Course Description:

An advanced theoretical and applied course with emphasis on individual mastery of television production ( studio & single camera) and production planning and management methods as related to the production of series sports programming. Instructional units include: Advanced field and studio video production, audio, editing, lighting and graphics, production planning, etc. The primary activity in the class will be producing the weekly interview show, "Sport Nuts", for regional ESPN II cablecast.

 

Expectations/ Requirements/Grading:

1) Each student will be required to spend a minimum of 10 hours training in the lab outside of class time (post in work log).

2) Each student will be required to write, produce, and edit 1 individuals single-camera production, as well as actively "crew" for other producers.

3) Each student will be required to take an active/productive role in the production and management of regularly scheduled studio programs (above & below-the-line positions).

4) Students will be expected to do the work assigned when it is assigned. If accepted, late work will be graded down.

5) Attendance and participation in all activities is required. Planned class and groups activities are

integral components of your grade. Failure to participate will result in a "0" for the activity.

6) Students will be required to keep a WORK LOG, recording all activities related to the class to be turned in at the end of the semester.
